Are The Republican Party Of Arkansas Freedom Thieves Coming For Your State Constitutional Rights?

Ever since Governor Sanders was inaugurated, she, Attorney General Tim Griffin, Party Chair Joseph Wood and the majority of State Legislators have brazenly made clear the Republican Party of Arkansas is actually the Purple Party of Arkansas.
Together they have shown a complete disdain for the People’s rights to Transparency in Government along with a complete disdain for the will of the People.
Now we are seeing their complete disdain for the People’s State Constitutional rights in Article 5 Section 1 to Amend the Constitution and enact laws.
The legislative power of the people of this State shall be vested in a General Assembly, which shall consist of the Senate and House of Representatives, but the people reserve to themselves the power to propose legislative measures, laws and amendments to the Constitution, and to enact or reject the same at the polls independent of the General Assembly; and also reserve the power, at their own option to approve or reject at the polls any entire act or any item of an appropriation bill.
The PPA Freedom Thieves want to use language in Amendment 7 to allow the State Legislature to amend a Constitutional Amendment made by the People….their will be Damned.
Amendment and Repeal. No measure approved by a vote of the people shall be amended or repealed by the General Assembly or by any city council, except upon a yea and nay vote on roll call of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house of the General Assembly, or of the city council, as the case may be.
The Freedom Thieves have a problem though….It’s called the Arkansas Supreme Court.
In 1951 the Court ended any wiggle room argument the State Legislature had with their ruling in Arkansas Game and Fish Commission v. Edgmon.

The Court found that the Legislature does not have the power to repeal or impair any of the People’s Amendments and stated –
“The clear intent of Amendment No. 7 was to give the people enlarged legislative and constitutional powers; hence courts will not presume that the intent was to permit the Legislature to repeal an initiated constitutional amendment; nor has it the power to impair such amendment in any manner.”
So how do the PPA Freedom Thieves get around the Court ?….Attorney General Tim Griffin of course.
In November, Bentonville’s own Purple State Senator Jim Dotson requested an Attorney General Opinion from Griffin on the question – “Can the General Assembly under Amendment 7 amend an initiated constitutional amendment by a 2/3 majority?”
Griffin obliged his fellow Freedom Thieves by issuing a four-page opinion concluding that – “Amendment 7’s plain language gives the General Assembly power to amend initiated constitutional amendments. In my opinion, if the Supreme Court were faced with your question today, it would most likely hold that Edgmon was wrongly decided, employed a form of reasoning that is now rejected, and should thus be overturned.”
By flipping off the 1951 Arkansas Supreme Court, Griffin has teed it up for the Purple Party in the State Legislature to take action during the legislative Session to steal rights from the People.
The Freedom Thieves know if they commit this robbery that someone will file a lawsuit against them for violating Case Law in AG&F v Edgmon, which will end up at the Arkansas Supreme Court….So why would they go ahead and do it ?
Well just because the Court has been labeled to have a 5-2 Conservative majority doesn’t make it so….Especially with Governor Sanders appointing Justices Cody Hiland and Nicholas Bronni.
The US Supreme Court and the AR Supreme Court have proven in the past, despite a Conservative label, they will put Politicians over People….Something the PPA Freedom Thieves are banking on and after all….what have they got to lose ?
Even if the AR Supreme Court rules against them, they are not getting charged with Attempted Theft and it won’t cost them a dime for their legal defense in the Lawsuit….The very People who they are trying to steal from get to pay that cost.
We as The People of our State cannot afford to sit around and hope the AR Supreme Court will protect us….We have to get proactive in theft prevention.
When we see the PPA Freedom Thieves coming this Legislative Session, we have to flood our Legislators with phone calls, texts and emails telling them to back off !
We have to show up to the State Capitol in numbers and fill the Committee rooms where these thefts occur and make our voices heard.
If we don’t defend our Freedoms and Rights from Government….just who the Hell do you think will ?

All Arkansas people care about are the razorbacks farmers and money good luck trying to convince them otherwise when I travel one of the state to the other that’s the consensus one more thing my mom and dad we’re democrats so I vote for democrats that’s all I hear from the people of Arkansas

Excellent article Jimmie! This was fact based and articulate. I applaud you! I had a feeling based on a few friends who knew Sarah Sanders was hiding something. I stood at the polls praying. God said “trust me”. So I chose her too. I was going to leave it blank. Sometimes they need to be in the spotlight to be exposed. Keep up the good work. My gut told me not to vote for her, and I didn’t. I voted for Doc Washburn. My gut was right. After she weakened our FOIA, she clearly announced that this was only the beginning of more FOIA law changes. I think Washburn would beat her today. I’ve also noticed that Trump has not included her in his new administration. I wrote and tried to see her regarding the horrible decision by the RPA to negate the wonderful work done by the State Convention, but but she did not respond. I even went to her office but was told she wasn’t in.
It would also be important to note that state senator Matt McKee was a sponsor of her bill to weaken our FOIA. We must admit and acknowledge that it is our weak Republican elected officials that are hand delivering our state to Communism by their complete disregard for We the People. They care only about their own power which comes from Marxism when they abandon the people. Last night at the completely sham election of new officers at the meeting of the Republican Party of Garland County, Representative Bruce Cozart actually told one of the members to go start her own Republican Party as if to say that this one belonged to them, the elected officials. This should go to the Ethics Committee.
