President Trump’s new executive order, Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections, will decertify Arkansas’s voting machines that use barcodes or QR codes to tabulate votes. The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) has 180 days to establish new certification standards—standards that will eliminate the current ExpressVote ballot marking devices used statewide.

This is a win for election integrity advocates who have long fought against unverifiable barcodes, but Governor Sarah Sanders and Senator Kim Hammer have resisted these changes. Why? We’re getting into it.
