On Monday, April 28, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order requiring all truck drivers in the United States to be proficient in English. It was a bold move to protect public safety and national sovereignty—but behind the headlines is a story of quiet obedience, unwavering faith, and the mighty hand of God.
That story begins in Saline County, Arkansas, with a man named Shannon Everett.
Shannon Everett is the owner of a small trucking company and the co-founder of American Truckers United. For years, he witnessed a troubling trend: not only were American trucking jobs being lost to illegal immigrants, but there was also a sharp increase in fatal truck crashes—many involving unqualified and unvetted drivers operating on U.S. roads as a result of open borders and lax enforcement. For Shannon, this wasn’t merely a political concern—it was a spiritual calling.
He felt the Lord calling him to speak out—to stand in the gap for the safety of American families and the integrity of the industry he loved. The calling was clear, but the road ahead was not.
Shannon faced rejection, mockery, and even threats. He was dismissed by lawmakers, including some who called themselves conservatives. One Republican official even advised him to give up and “hire the illegals like everyone else.” At one point, Shannon received a death threat. But like so many servants of God before him, he stood firm, not in his own strength—but in God’s.
He knew obedience was better than comfort. Faithfulness mattered more than applause.
In 2024, Shannon played a key role in helping the Saline County Republican Committee pass a resolution titled Urging The Immediate Enforcement of U.S. Commercial Drivers Licenses for All Commercial Truck Drivers in Arkansas. Later, the Arkansas GOP disbanded the committee, criticizing it as “too MAGA” and too vocal in its support for President Trump and the America First agenda. But by then, the seeds had already been planted.
Shannon didn’t retreat. He went county to county, sharing the truth, sounding the alarm, and trusting God for the increase. At one meeting, State Representative Wayne Long heard Shannon speak and offered to file a bill. Though the legislation died in committee—suffocated by pressure from the Arkansas Trucker’s Association—Shannon’s message could not be silenced.
Because when man says no, God is just getting started.
As Arkansas legislators caved under pressure, God opened new doors. Shannon’s message began to gain national attention—through interviews with Steve Bannon, widespread social media engagement, news articles, and word of mouth. The state of Oklahoma adopted the legislation, where it is now moving swiftly through the legislature and is expected to become law. Then, just two weeks after Shannon’s interview aired nationally, President Trump signed the Executive Order.
That’s how God works. He uses ordinary people who say “yes.”
Shannon Everett didn’t have a title or lobbyists. What he had was faith. He obeyed God’s call, endured the storm, and witnessed the fruit—not because of political power, but because of spiritual persistence.
One man. One calling. One faithful “yes.” And a nation moved because of it.

Just a homeschool mom hoping to make a positive difference in the world.
Of, For, and By the PEOPLE is the best form of Government and this is prima facie evidence. Beautifully written about a beautiful BUT GOD result!
What a great story. Never, never quit.
Great story, however, there is another co-founder, Harvey Beech. He actually paid for ATU to go to MATS and has funded the entire American Truckers United association….strange how he isn’t mentioned at all in this story…
