A federal court has delivered a pivotal ruling that safeguards the privacy and fairness of girls nationwide.

On April 29th, the Biden administration announced plans to redefine “sex” under Title IX to include “gender identity,” effectively requiring schools to overlook established sex-based protections that acknowledge the biological differences between men and women. This decision quickly prompted a series of lawsuits.

Today, in the case of State of Tennessee v. Cardona, United States District Court Chief Judge Danny C. Reeves issued a well-reasoned opinion that halts the Biden administration’s “Final Rule” aimed at redefining sex in federal law. This decision is a powerful affirmation of truth, justice, and the rule of law.

Judge Reeves determined that the “Final Rule” created by the Biden administration exceeded the Department of Education’s statutory authority under Title IX, violated the Constitution, and was based on arbitrary and capricious agency action. He emphasized that the plain meaning of Title IX is evident from its wording and requires no reinterpretation. The judge noted that redefining “on the basis of sex” to include “gender identity” fundamentally distorts the purpose of Title IX, concluding that the Biden administration’s approach “simply does not make sense.”

This ruling applies nationwide and to every part of Title IX.

It is also a resounding victory—not only for fairness and privacy but also for the foundational truth that God created each of us, male and female, in His image. It stands against the Biden administration’s efforts to impose gender ideology, which undermines the clarity and goodness of God’s design for men and women as described in the first book of Genesis. Such ideologies harm everyone, but their impact is especially profound on women and girls.

We commend Judge Reeves for upholding statutory integrity and resisting ideological pressure, ensuring that the law protects our young women and girls as intended. This ruling delivers a significant blow to harmful narratives and offers hope for restoring cultural clarity and common sense.

While an appeal may follow, there is growing evidence that the cultural tide is shifting. Leaders such as President Trump have expressed a firm commitment to challenging radical gender ideologies within government. Now is the time to build on this momentum, stand together for truth, and continue to advocate for what is right.
