Each morning my day begins with a bit of website bingo—searching about for interesting takes on daily events. The winner often surprises me. We all seem to do this, don’t we? Neighbors, friends and political sorts often ask what websites I go. So, I thought, today I would list and explain a few and I hope you find them helpful in your daily walk-about. Like me, you may want to bookmark them or put several in your ‘favorites’ bar.

Citizen Free Press. https://citizenfreepress.com/ This is an extraordinary website for conservative content. Rather than provide analysis on its own, it links to host of great stories Even better, the website is literally updated by the minute. So, on Friday, as the Zelensky-Trump estrangement broke onto the scene, Citizen Free Press’ instantaneous links kept me transfixed into the evening.

Revolver News. https://revolver.news/newsfeed/ Not quite on par with Citizen Free Press, Revolver News also links to stories not otherwise covered by the mainstream media. Particularly helpful is its ‘rewrite’ of the stories by way of expressive headlines. Things like “Support for Ukraine Craters” linked to an X/Twitter feed can be entertaining, even if you don’t follow the link. Revolver News does not update in any regular pattern but will change to some degree throughout the day.

X/Twitterhttps://x.com/home With millions of subscribers worldwide, X can be an incredibly interesting site to visit throughout the day. The key is that you locate X feeds you trust and ‘follow’ those feeds. I like to follow feeds from overseas to get a different perspective and, of course, feeds from a host of conservative commentators as well. Watch out because everyone inevitably goes down the rat-hole of videos and comments, and while it can be fun it is unquestionably addictive. After-all, who doesn’t like a cat video now and then.

Newsmax. https://www.newsmax.com/ This is, for many on the right, an increasingly essential go-to website. It’s grown and improved over the years and covers stories from a clear right leaning perspective.

Fox News. https://www.foxnews.com Yikes, do I really recommend it. Yes, I do! The center leaning conservative perspectives here is important. Fox News continues to have excellent coverage of news events throughout the day, even as I must admit I long ago cancelled my cable coverage.

Gateway Pundit. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/ Here’s your antidote for Fox News, if you need it. Red meat conservative analysis and links at their finest. This website was the first to devote serious time to voter integrity issues and consistently publishes critical stories days before any other outlets

Powerline Blog. https://www.powerlineblog.com/ Rush Limbaugh went here every day! That alone should tell you that you need to put this up as a go-to website. Powerline has several spectacular features. It has marvelous commentary by a group of five or so writers. While I disagree with them on occasion, they are consistently great writers. Then there are the daily links it provides to big-time writers around the world on topics of the day. And, to make the site even more a go-to for me is the list of virtually all the major conservative websites (not yet to Arkansas 1st, but maybe soon).

RedState. https://redstate.com/ I like this website because it selects the three or four major stories of the day and provides a pithy article about that story. It is a good source for knowing what is animating the Washington crowd.

Federalist. https://thefederalist.com/ This probably gives away my legal background, but I find the Federalist a marvelous ‘long-form’ website. Its stories are always well researched and again, like RedState, provide superb insight into Washington based thoughts. And, nothing satisfies better than the regular video clips of the Federalists’ editor-in-chief, Mollie Hemingway, eviscerating the Washington elite.

Zero Hedge. https://www.zerohedge.com/ Seriously, if you have not gotten to this website, bookmark it and make it a habit. Consistently, Zero Hedge covers serious stories that get no coverage elsewhere. It too was a Limbaugh favorite and it remains an absolute go-to necessity for anyone on the right. There is decidedly business oriented content but then money makes this world go-round. Like Gateway Pundit, you’ll see stories here long before they break into the news cycle.

Others. I realize I have opened a can-of-worms here because of all the other websites I have failed to mention. Longer form websites, like Instapundit https://instapundit.com/ and HotAir https://hotair.com/ are daily treats, midmorning snacks if you will. In the category of longer form sites there are an enormous number of superb opportunities. Let us know your favorite websites, I’m always up for exploring other options.

Over the years I have drifted away from mainstream (and even far-left) websites, but I must admit I still go to them to check my bias. I recommend you do the same. It pays to know what the enemy is doing and thinking. But to be clear, my equanimity goes only so far–the only thing the New York Times is good for is, as hard copy, to wrap my fish cleaning detritus.

Enjoy your surfing!
