Hi, my name is Katie Morris. You may have heard about the war going on between Israel and Iran. Iran has threatened to destroy Israel and the Jewish people. They have also threatened the United States. In fact, the Iranian regime hates both countries. Today I’m going to talk about the Israeli and Iran war and how we can pray for Israel.

Israel initiated strikes against Iran because they were creating nuclear bombs that would soon be powerful enough to cause a lot of death and destruction. The leaders in Israel could not let that happen to their people who have been through so much.

The Iranian people have been oppressed for over 40 years and do not have freedom they used to enjoy. They like the Israeli people but they do not like the officials of their own country. This is why we still have to pray for Iran. The Iranian princess even said today that Israel is their friend. It’s not the people who don’t like Israel. It’s the government. God also says to pray for our enemies.

President Trump was trying to talk to the leaders of Iran and convince them to stop making bombs. The President gave them 60 days, but they didn’t take the deal. Israel attacked on the 61st day. President Trump does not want war with Iran, but he is committed to defending Israel against Iran’s attacks.

The harsh thing is that Israel is bombing Iranian weapon bases, where they are making the bombs, government bases, and military bases. While on the other hand Iran is just being plain evil and keeps bombing big cities, homes, villages, apartments, and basically where a bunch of people are. Iran’s not even trying to win they just want to kill all the civilians while Israel have tried to stay away from bombing civilians in Iran.

Last year I went on a mission trip to England. England has millions of people from other countries seeking asylum, or safety. They often had to pay people to take them from their country to England. For most it took many days or months to make the dangerous trip.

While we were there, we met a man from Iran named Soran. He volunteered at the coffee shop that the church owns. He left Iran because he was afraid of being killed. He did not agree with the leaders of his country. He was trying to get refugee status so he could stay in England and get a job to earn money. Refugees also get a passport so they have freedom to travel.

While he was waiting, Soran almost got sent away to another very dangerous country, Rwanda. Through the prayers of many Christians, Soran miraculously was granted refugee status. Earlier this year he was able to travel to another country where he was able to visit with his Mom. For the first time he felt freedom.

We went back to England for Spring Break this year and got to see Soran. He was looking for a job and an apartment.

When the fighting began, my Mom texted him and told him we were praying for his loved ones in Iran. He thanked her and said he hoped the regime would be destroyed. Later he posted a picture that said Pray for Israel.

The Prime Minister of Israel has made it clear that they don’t have issues with the Iranian people, but their government officials. In keeping Israel safe, they are keeping other countries safe, including ours.

Israel is the apple of God’s eye so Israel will not be destroyed. God says in Genesis “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.” It is still true today. God gave the land of Israel to his people forever. Let’s pray for the leaders of Israel and the United States to make wise decisions. Even though Iran has threatened us I believe that God will give Trump the strength to help Israel and battle against Iran. So with that being said we need to pray for both Israel and Iran.
