January is Sanctity of Life Month—a time to unite our voices and affirm the God-given value of every human life. On Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., the Arkansas State Capitol in downtown Little Rock will once again be the gathering place for those who believe in the sacredness of life. The March for Life isn’t just an event; it’s a powerful reminder of our responsibility to stand for the most vulnerable among us and to champion the values of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Why We March

Each step we take at the March for Life is a declaration of truth: life is precious, purposeful, and worth protecting. As Americans, our founding principles affirm that every individual has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These rights are not conditional; they are endowed by our Creator and belong to every human being—born and unborn.

The March for Life is more than a statement against abortion. It is a statement of hope, a message to our communities and leaders that we must protect and nurture life at every stage. It’s about creating a culture that values every mother, every child, and every family.

Beyond the March: Supporting Mothers and Families

While marching is an essential way to raise awareness, our responsibility doesn’t end on the steps of the Capitol. Protecting life means more than advocating for the baby’s right to be born—it means walking alongside mothers long after they’ve chosen life. Partnering with ministries that support women during and after pregnancy is crucial. These organizations provide practical resources, emotional encouragement, and spiritual guidance, ensuring that mothers and their children thrive.

Pregnancy is just the beginning of a lifelong journey, and many mothers need support well beyond the delivery room. That’s where the Church and community can step in, offering love, mentorship, and opportunities for a better future. By investing in mothers, we affirm their inherent worth and empower them to pursue their own life, liberty, and happiness.

Answering the Call

Getting involved is easier than you might think. Here are a few ways you can make a difference:

  1. Join the March for Life. Make your voice heard on January 19. Stand alongside others who share your commitment to protecting life and ensuring a brighter future for all Arkansans.
  2. Support local ministries. Partner with organizations that provide resources for pregnant women, parenting classes, housing, and mentorship. Whether it’s through financial support, volunteering, or prayer, your involvement matters.
  3. Advocate for life in your community. Educate others about the sanctity of life and the importance of supporting women and families. A culture of life begins with conversations that change hearts and minds.
  4. Pray. Pray for the unborn, for mothers facing unplanned pregnancies, and for those working in ministries to protect and support life.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

The sanctity of life is at the heart of the American dream. Every child deserves the chance to experience the beauty of liberty and the joy of pursuing happiness. Every mother deserves to feel supported and valued as she makes the brave decision to choose life. Together, we can create a culture where these ideals flourish, where every life is celebrated, and where every family finds hope.

As we prepare to march this month, let’s remember that every step matters. By marching, supporting ministries, and advocating for life, we can build a brighter future—one that honors the sanctity of life and reflects the love of Christ.

We’ll see you at the Capitol on January 19. Let’s march for life, together.
