Does Conway PD Chief Chris Harris Use Racial Slurs About White Women In Relationships With Black Men ?….Three Sworn Affidavits Say Yes

Have you ever heard the racial slur “Mud Shark” ?
It’s a disgusting term used to denigrate White women in relationships with Black men portraying them as bottom feeders and race traitors.
If you have been keeping up, then you know that Officer Brittany Byrd was terminated by Conway PD Chief Chris Harris. That termination is currently under appeal with the Civil Service Commission….Did I mention Brittany has been a relationship for several years with another Conway Officer that just happens to be Black ?
Three separate former law enforcement officers have given sworn affidavits stating that Conway PD Chief Chris Harris has commonly used this term in conversations with them and other officers over the years.
Melissa Grantham was with Conway PD from September 2002 to December 2021 when she retired at the rank of Seargent. On November 28th, 2022 she gave a 17-page sworn affidavit.
On page 1 of that statement, Grantham detailed a conversation she had with Harris where she states he referred to a lady as a Mud Shark. Grantham said she had never heard that term before and asked Harris to explain it.
She said Harris then told her that a Mud Shark is a white girl that dates or has dated Black men. He then described it as the White girl “swimming in the mud.” Harris went on to say that a Mud Shark was ruined and that no responsible guy would date her after knowing that. Grantham further went on to describe an incident she witnessed in which Harris racially mistreated a group of Hispanic males.
Ronnie Stephens was a Conway PD Officer from January 1998 through April 2018. On December 12, 2022, he gave a sworn Affidavit in which he stated Harris occasionally used the term Mud Shark. He also stated that Mud Shark was a common term used by Conway PD Officers from the time he was hired until he left.
Larone Lowe was a UCA PD Officer in 1999 with Harris. On December 15th, 2022, he gave a sworn Affidavit in which she stated he heard him in casual conversation with other male officers making the comment that White girls who dated Black guys were Mud Sharks as well as other racial slurs. Lowe said he also heard him make comments that women didn’t need to be police officers because they were too weak to protect themselves in a situation that required physical force. Lowe stated this behavior happened on several occasions.
That’s not one but THREE people saying Harris used the term Mud Shark regularly which gives their statements credibility.
The Affidavits are exhibits in an ongoing lawsuit filed on December 2nd, 2022, against the Police Department by Brittany Byrd.
The lawsuit claims retaliation, harassment and discrimination based off race and gender.
In 2019, acting as a Whistle Blower, Byrd reported misuse of public funds and conflicts of interest by Major Clay Smith concerning his personal canine business and affiliates. She also reported unprofessional conduct Smith had with her in perceived unwanted advances.
After these reports is when the retaliation, harassment and discrimination began.
Now do these affidavits connect the dots on one of the reasons Harris is targeting Byrd ?…..To me they are credible statements that add up.
