Marcus Britt is a former Razorback Basketball player and the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Forrest City High School.
Last Saturday May 3rd Britt was arrested by Wynne PD Officer Logan Richardson for Driving On Suspended License.
Richardson transported Britt to the Cross County Jail where he was booked in and released shortly thereafter.
The Body Camera footage of the incident shows Britt’s charges could have been much worse.

After smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car, Officer Richardson brought it to the attention of Britt who then gave Richardson consent to search the vehicle.
Richardson found drug paraphernalia and a blunt, (Marijuana cigarette), in the center console.
The Officer assisting Richardson in the search of the car stated at one point – “It smells so much like weed I’m getting a headache.”
Very early into the stop, Britt informed Richardson that he was the Forrest City Basketball Coach. That appears to have paid off because after placing Britt in handcuffs Richardson stated – “Since you’re a coach I’m gonna do you a favor and not charge you with possession.”
A quick search on Britt showed that he has a history of Driving On Suspended License along with two DWIs.
Driving is not the only licensure issue Britt has either.
On January 10th of this year, I wrote an article detailing how nine Forrest City teacher/coaches are not licensed with the Arkansas Department of Education, (ADE), to teach nor are they on any Waivers that allow them to do so.
Britt is one of the nine and to date the ADE still shows that status for him.
Now Educator Ethics Standards violation allegations could be filed with the ADE’s Professional Licensure Standards Board against Britt for last weekend’s arrest and incident….One problem though….State Educator Licensure Standards only apply to Teachers who hold a License.
The Forrest City School Superintendent and Board could discipline Britt….but if they won’t discipline a coach for having a gun at a game, it’s a pretty good bet they won’t discipline Britt for this incident.
I do wonder though if Britt has a no marijuana rule for his Players ?….Or does he have a “Smoke em if ya got em.” Policy ?
