Fort Smith attorneys Joey McCutchen, Stephen Napurano and I partner up to take on corruption and wrongdoing in Government all over the State.<
On Friday November 22nd, together we filed a lawsuit against the City of Fort Smith for violating Article 12 Section 5 and Article 16 Section 13 of our Arkansas State Constitution.

You see we discovered that Fort Smith Mayor George McGill loves to donate money to his favorite charities….give that man a plaque right !
Well maybe not so fast on having it engraved.
What we also discovered is that he uses city funds to make these donations….you know….your money.
Not only is he donating your money he is receiving personal benefits from doing so such as dinners, entertainment and golf outings….Our State Constitution says you can’t do either and for good reason.
McGill is so brazen that this year he donated $15,000.00 of city funds to a 501(c)(3) organization called “The Fort Smith Round Table”….are ready for this….McGill himself founded that non-profit in 2006….He donated your money to his own Non-Profit !
Stephen really lays it out nicely in the filed complaint when he states –
“While charitable organizations serve important roles in communities, it is not the role of government officials to decide which private organizations should receive taxpayer money. Public funds are collected to serve public purposes—such as infrastructure, public safety, and essential services—not to subsidize private charities or nonprofit initiatives. Taxpayers should have the freedom to decide for themselves whether to support certain charitable organizations, rather than having government officials make those decisions on their behalf using taxpayer money. This lawsuit seeks to ensure that our taxpayer money is being spent in accordance with the law and to hold public officials accountable for violating constitutional prohibitions against the misuse of public funds.”….Perfectly said.
Now we are not done at all investigating this matter l and expect we will find much more wrongdoing by McGill and the City.
It wasn’t long ago I discovered Vilonia Mayor Preston Scroggin was doing the same thing just on a much smaller scale….So now I’m wonder just how many Mayors across the State are as generous with your money as McGill is ???
Now Joey, Stephen and I can’t catch them all…But you can bet we are gonna hit a lick!
