At Arkansas 1st, our commitment is clear: truth, transparency, and accountability—regardless of party, personality, or power structure involved. This is not a slogan; it is our standard, and we uphold it even when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.

The recent article by Jimmie Cavin did not make accusations. Instead, it raised reasonable, necessary questions about the conduct of a public official and the law enforcement response surrounding it. These are questions the public deserves answered.

Our goal for news articles at Arkansas 1st is to report facts and allow you, the reader, to form your own opinions. From the reaction to Cavin’s article, you’ve clearly done just that—and by that measure, we consider our goal to be successful.

As always, in response to any Arkansas 1st article or opinion piece, we welcome civil discourse and principled debate. However, to Cavin’s article, some have reacted not with thoughtful disagreement or principled discussion, but with petty, performative, and politically motivated attacks—which are especially loud from those entrenched in the RPA establishment or angling for a seat at the table.

This situation perfectly illustrates what is broken in Arkansas politics. Principles like equal justice, transparency, and accountability are talked about proudly—only to vanish the moment they apply to someone inside the circle. Integrity is too often replaced by loyalty. Questions are met with spin, not answers.

Let us be perfectly clear: we are not Republican First. We are not politicians first. We are not loyalists to any individual, faction, or friend group. We are Arkansas First. That means we ask tough questions, expose double standards, and speak truth even when it’s unpopular.

There will be neither a retraction nor an apology. If that offends you, then you are welcome to find your comfort in one of the many “conservative” outlets whose mission is protecting their friends. That’s not who we are—and never will be. We know that if your commitment to principle collapses the moment it costs you something, it was never a principle at all—it was performance.

We will continue reporting boldly, honestly, and unapologetically–because Arkansas deserves nothing less.

Why are recent NIL laws exempting taxes retroactively while sales tax on groceries is not? I wish someone would ask why.

Good work to Arkansas 1st! I believe that Senator Stubblefield had a medical issue and I still support him. No alcohol present. If the Senator is subject to those events, his inner circle needs to apply a tighter chain. Keep up the good work!

  3. jimmie always welcome in my moderate groups because he is not an over the top nut.
