In a time of political turbulence, the Republican Party of Arkansas faces a critical question: Should we adhere to the rules and principles that form the backbone of our party, or is achieving a desired outcome justification enough to abandon them? This question cuts to the core of who we are as conservatives and what we stand for as a political movement.
The rules, the platform, and the law are not arbitrary constraints; they are the guardrails of integrity and fairness that distinguish principled governance from political chaos. Yet, troubling signs are emerging within our own ranks. Recent actions suggest that, for some, outcomes trump principles. Dissolving committees, ejecting members, and skirting established rules in pursuit of expedience is a slippery slope that threatens the very foundation of our party.
The argument that following the rules is “confrontational” deserves scrutiny. Is it truly confrontational to demand accountability and adherence to our own standards? Or is it merely inconvenient for those who view rules as obstacles to their personal agendas? To dismiss such concerns as divisive is to undermine the purpose of our platform and the values it represents.
When rules are disregarded, where does the line get drawn? If we do not anchor ourselves in the rules, the platform, and the law, we risk devolving into an organization governed by whim rather than principle. This is not just about individual grievances or procedural squabbles—it is about the character of our party and the legacy we leave for future generations of Republicans in Arkansas.

As conservatives, we champion the rule of law, limited government, and accountability. These values must begin within our own institutions. The strength of the Republican Party of Arkansas will not be measured by short-term victories achieved through rule-bending but by the enduring trust and respect of its members and voters.
The path forward is clear: return to the rules, honor the platform, and respect the law. Anything less threatens to erode the very principles that define us. The Republican Party’s mission is not to serve individual agendas but to stand as a beacon of integrity, advocating for policies that strengthen families, communities, and our state. Let us not lose sight of that mission in pursuit of fleeting gains.
