On May 9th, I brought you the story of Forrest City high school boys basketball coach, Marcus Britt, being arrested in Wynne AR on charges of driving on a suspended license.
Body camera video of the stop revealed Britt was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The arresting officer stated he was doing Britt a favor by not charging him with possession.
The question I had at that point was why Britt had a suspended license ?
This quickly turned into a “you can’t make this stuff up” story.
Britt driving on a suspended license goes back to May of 2007 in St. Francis County where he received a speeding ticket.
A warrant was issued for his arrest for Failure to Appear in court for the ticket and his license was then suspended.
In June of 2009, Britt was arrested in Forrest City for DWI along with Failure to Appear and Driving on Suspended License from the traffic stop in 2007.

In June of 2012 Britt was once again arrested in Fayetteville for DWI and Driving on Suspended License from the previous DWI.
You think I’m done right ?….Nope.
In January of 2014 Britt was yet again arrested on the U of A campus in Fayetteville for DWI and Driving on Suspended License.
Court records show his driver’s license is still suspended to this day from failure to pay $5,730.00 in fines and fees dating back to the 2012 DWI arrest.
That is what resulted in Britt being arrested in Wynne on May 3rd.
The reality is that Britt has been driving on a suspended license for the last Eighteen years.
Britt was hired by the Forrest City School District in 2018 to teach and coach basketball.
That begs the question – “Does Superintendent Tiffany Hardrick vet anyone before recommending their hire to the School Board ?”
I asked Hardrick for a statement on the matter and never got a response. Records show that Britt has not been suspended, terminated or placed on administrative leave and is currently employed by the District.
I also asked Britt to do an interview with me on the matter to which he declined.
So, let’s recap –
Britt, who is this year’s 4A-6 Coach of the Year, has been arrested 1 time for Failure to Appear….3 times for DWI….4 times for Driving on Suspended License….Was found to be in possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia….and has been driving on a Suspended License for the last Eighteen years.
Told ya you can’t make this stuff up
